Hotelier Horst Peintner is also a sommelier, and he and bar manager Reini Gostner share an enthusiasm for artisanal products and fine rarities. Great things happen when they put their heads together: their selection of fine wines, fruit and marc brandies and spirits is rather impressive, and the menu also includes creative signature cocktails.

And since your hosts are wine-lovers with a good palate, our manicured wine list includes – besides classics from our region – a fine selection of natural and PIWI wines with a focus on organic and biodynamic winegrowing. These natural masterpieces reflect the diversity and raw potential of our land as a winegrowing region, as well as our conscious approach to wine enjoyment.

Growing delight

Since 2023, our wine hotel has had its own vineyard within the Zöhlhof wine estate, high above the town of Klausen. Around 3,000 square metres of land cultivated according to organic and sustainable principles, in a prime sunny location with gravelly moraine soils. This is where Horst Peintner works with the winemakers to make his Gitschberg Kerner. Fresh and juicy, with an invigorating acidity and fruity notes of apple and white peach, it goes perfectly with aperitifs and starters, as well as with fish and light meat dishes.

With over 150 different labels, the Gitschberg grappatheque provides a hint as to Reini’s passion for quality spirits. Our bar manager is always on the lookout for the best and latest creations by South Tyrolean distilleries. And while quality is his top priority, taste is no less important.
