Diverse, rich in contrasts, alluring. From May until well into October, an Alpine idyll and unique experience of nature are waiting for you in the Alm region of Gitschberg-Jochtal.
Mountain Spring from May to June
Spring lasts longer here, under the sunshine at 1,400 meters. Cheerful birdsong, colorful alpine meadows and the spicy aroma of the forest floor. May draws us outdoors, where we can once again experience the sights, sounds and smells of nature. Then June comes along, plunging us into a fiery sea of flowers, and Mother Nature stages a truly spectacular show: the flowering of alpine roses on Gitschberg Mountain.
HIGH-ALTITUDE SUMMER from July to August
Leave the heat of summer behind. Let go a sigh a relief, and breathe deeply. The fresh mountain air in Meransen restores the spirit. Forest breezes balance out the glorious sunshine, and the nights are wonderfully cool. It's time for picking mushrooms and wild berries: tempting and delicious.
Golden Autumn from September to November
Rarely are summit panoramas so crisp and clear. Forests and meadows are awash in bright colors, temperatures are mild, and it seems as if the landscape has been kissed by the sun. Mother Nature is decked out in all her beauty: a simple hike, together with South Tyrol's culinary delights, transforms into the quintessential experience of autumn.
